Coloured Vains on a Mulsanne

Now here is a Bentley that is a little bit different. Notice it?

Bentley Mulsanne

It has coloured coded vains on a Bentley Mulsanne, with an unpainted surround.

Bentley Mulsanne

Most colour coded vains are associated with the Bentley Continential convertible based on the T2 Bentley. There is a large gallery of them here.

The option does work, but be careful not to go overboard and get snow blindness as explained previously here.

The car above is crying out for clear indicators.

Bentley Arnage Red Label Black Edition

If you are the kind of guy that wears sun glasses at night, this is the Bentley for you. And if you are a Goth as well.

The 2002 Bentley Arnage Red Label Black Edition, one of two built.

Currently on ebay item number 270151260390.

It is for people that have a serious aversion to chrome.

Dark wood goes nicely.

Oh and if you have gone this far, you now have to keep up with the latest fashion and get black wheels and smoke the lights.

Photoshop hack.

The nightrider.

Bentley Brooklands at Brooklands

The ideas behind publicity photographs that come from Rolls Royce and Bentley generally do not change much over the decades.

Previously it was a Rolls Royce with the Eifel Tower in the background, same idea decades apart.

Now here comes the new one. A Bentley Brooklands at you guessed it Brooklands racing circuit.

First the old Bentley Brooklands at Brooklands from 1992.

Now the 2008 Bentley Brooklands at Brooklands. Even racing the vintage Bentley remains.

But however, it is still super cool.

James May's Bentley T2 For Sale

Probably the most famous Bentley T2 in recent times is for sale.

The car takes it notoriety from its current owner James May, a co host of the BBC television car programme Top Gear, simply the best motoring programme in the world.

A whole review of his car has been featured on the programme and here it is. James May reviewing his own Bentley T2.

The car is currently for sale via Nigel Sandell and the advertisement is as following "Bentley T2 1980 Caribbean blue with magnolia interior and blue piping. Surf blue carpet. 4 Head rests. Harvey bailey suspension kit. 91,000 miles, great drive. £14,995.00"

James May purchased the car for £14,000.00 from a bloke he felt sorry for, so presumably there is some haggling room.

Bentley T 2 door Saloon by James Young

This Bentley T 2 door saloon by James Young is just one of 15 Bentley versions built. A further 35 Rolls Royce version were made.

This makes this car quite rare, and right up there in the collectablity stakes.

What is more is that the James Young 2 door Bentley T car is a well known special, increasing its popularity and future growth potential.

So you do not have to move your head, I photoshoped the normal angle.

What is interesting is that it was part car collection in a barn in New Orleans, that is currently being offered for sale Big Easy Dave from Big Easy Dave's Classic Cars. These photos are from the barn.

The car has been stored as the pictures show for around twenty years. It was imported presumably from the UK in the 1970's, and still has the British registration plates on it. I don't think its seen too much of the Big Easy.

I have no idea how the car was affected by the Hurricane. I would totally wreck a Silver Shadow to bring this back from the brink - if it is at the brink mind you.

It is a very tempting purchase!

Old School Photos

We all like looking back at old school photos.

It is always, "Oh, I remember that person."

There is generally one person that stands out as well. This time they are wearing red.

The class of 1998, The Silver Seraph.

And a decade before, the class of 1988, The Silver Spirit.

We will have to look out for next years class photo, the 2008 Phantom. Will look probably something like this.

Bentley Turbo RT Olympian

In 1998 the Bentley Turbo R body shape was 18 years old. I was pretty obvious that an all new model was going to come out. It did that year, the Bentley Arnage.

There were difficulties at Rolls Royce and Bentley, with the sale of the company and confusion over the branding and the future.

They however still had to sell cars, and made a few special models like the Bentley Turbo S , and this one, the Olympian.

Four Olympian cars were made, and were a dealer specific special to Jack Barclay, still the most successful dealer in the world today.

It came with a Hooper discrete window, and special badging.

The wheels are a highlight and would look great on a 1981 model. Also the headlight surrounds are shinny, a feature that was also on the Arnage.

A couple have been up for sale in the past, but if you realy want to experience the Bentley Olympian you can also hire an example from a British company called Car Men Rollers.

From Maidstone, Ashford or the Kent Coast to either London, Gatwick or Heathrow costs between £150.00 and £200.00.

All the Bentley Olympians feature a centre mounted badge on the badge bar, but I am unsure what it is or what it says.

You have heard the stories. Large collections of Rolls Royce and Bentley cars in the Middle East.

Here is a peek in a corner of a garage.

Bentley Continental R Mulliner in Sydney

There a some high resolution photographs of a Bentley Continental R Mulliner in Sydney Australia.

They would make a good 'wallpaper' for your computer desktop of you were so inclined.

This car is a little odd, as it looks like it has a New South Wales registration sticker on the rear window, but they are certainly not Australian number plates.

Maybe a British reader could shed some light on the registration?

Matte Black Mansory Widebody Bentley Continental GT

Matte Black is a very popular colour right now. If you want to stand out, it certainly does the job.

For example some different marques.

We have seen a Bentley called the Bentley Continental GTM Monaco edition in matte black.

And here is a reminder of the fantastic Bentley Continental GT Widebody Le MANSory, by Mansory. The car is hard to forget.

Now of course if you really want to stand out, do as a resident of Dubai did, and get a matte black Mansory widebody.

As I have said before, this is modern coachbuilding.

In twenty years time this car is going to be as cool as a Hooper or a Jankel.
