Continental Crusin'

We all have different preferences and tastes.

Take this Bentley Continental Convertible - it stands out for both its paintwork and its aftermarket wheels.

Lets take a closer look at those alloys...

And the custom steering wheel...

Not a car for purists, but nothing too difficult to change back to original if you wish.

What would you do?!

Black or White....

Okay, make your mind up.

A photo sent to me today - chopped....

Chop...

Chop...

Wait a minute...

That's like wearing a suit with no shoes. So wrong.

Cherry Blossoms

It's "hanami" or cherry blossom season in Japan - a welcome sign of Spring when many contemplate the pink hued white sakura (or cherry blossom flowers) while making plans for the remainder of the year....

And here we have a 1991 Rolls-Royce Corniche II Convertible that matchhes the cherry blossom:

Even the interior continues the theme:

With this car there is no need for hanami to only be once a year.

Coffee Bean

H&H Classic Auctions are offering a 1976 Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible at their 15th April sale.

What makes this car special is that it is a rare "series 1A": one of the last of the chrome bumper cars fitted with many of the improvements that came with the the Silver Shadow II models launched in 1977, most notably dual level air-conditioning and revised dashboards.

It's described as being finished in malborough brown with a brown mohair hood and tan leather interior. But checking against rrsilvershadow.com suggests it may actually be coffee bean brown: http://www.rrsilvershadow.com/Kleur/Best/Corniche%20conv%201972%20DRA14277%20RV.jpg

The first of the series 1A cars was chassis #DRH22583, and this car, chassis #DRH22652, appears the be the fifth series 1A convertible off the production line. It's a rare car, with only 254 examples produced, off which just 48 are RHD cars like this one.

It's stated to have covered 93,000 miles with detailed service history and the guide price is GBP 25,000-30,000.
