(T)2 Timer

Here's a very,very special Bentley on Ebay.

It's a rare 1977 Bentley T2.

The original owner was the Swiss Ambassador in the US and he ordered the car with 2 clocks for US and Swiss time!
No offence the the said gentleman, but I don't think mathematics was his forte - just add six, Sir.....
The car also features a 'factory' sunroof, in which the body was shipped to a coachbulider in France for the modification during manufacture. Even the that famous Silver Shadow/T series double level roof line is altered.
The car is absolutely stunning.

Rolls-Royce Phantom V Video

It is always nice to see a car with occasional seats.

Very appropriate for grand outings with lots of people

CNNMoney Reports How to sell a $285,000 Bentley

The president of Bentley says sales are picking up after customers who put off purchases during the financial crisis are now buying.

The video seems a bit amateurish. I expected more from CNN.

Rose Royce by Magnolia Pearl

Take a look at this Silver Cloud.

Grill

An art car is quite descriptive.

Crewe body on Chevy truck I presume.

Rose Royce Rolls Royce

And why may you ask?

Well it is all part of the Magnolia Pearl style, and a quite practical vehicle for pulling a caravan.

How about a quick look inside the Airstream.

It certainly is impressive.

So what about the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud interior?

Wow.

Take a look at their video, to assess for yourself more the the style.

Buy your girlfriend or boyfriend some from magnoliapearl.com

Unique Ghost in Hong Kong, China

Love it.

Drizzy's Phantom

"And my mother embarrassed to put my Phantom out / So I park about five houses down / She said I shouldn't have until I have the crown / But I don't wanna feel the need to wear disguises around / So she wonder where my mind is / Accounts in the minus / But yet I'm rolling round the f–kin' city like your highness."
Lyrics from "Say Whats Real" by Drake.

Two summers ago there was a mysterious 'pimped' Phantom on my street. I did post a picture of it on this site some time ago.
It would turn up very early every morning and as the evening set in it would disappear downtown direction 7 or 8pm. Sometimes, in the dawn light as I returned from my 5am run, I'd see the driver exit his vehicle so I'd bid him Good Morning. None of my neighbours seemed to know who he was but rumour was that he was some up and coming D.J. or Rapper or club owner - or even something sinister..

Well, 16 months later I've discovered it was none other than Canada's superstar Hip Hop artist Drake who was living with his mother at the time.
To quote from Maclean's Magazine:
'Drake may be the first rapper to talk about how his mom disapproves of his car. The former Degrassi: The Next Generation star used his acting money to lease a Rolls-Royce Phantom in order to fit into the world of hip hop—and he's not too proud to admit it in his song'.

Well it worked for him and his image, but why is it that the last time I saw him (and realised who he was), he's since moved out of my 'hood and is being chauffeured around in a Maybach 62 with his pals (Ludacris, being one of them)

Go on Drizzy, get a set of winter tyres for the German car and order yourself a Phantom Extended Wheelbase for this summer...

Bentley Azur 2 Door Spyder by Jankel

Every time I see photos of this model of car I smile.

Is it a matter of people being able to obtain simply what they want.

I want a convertible Bentley Turbo R please.

As Australians say, 'No worries, mate.'

Speak to Mr Robert Jankel and he will make you one. He calls it a Bentley Azur 2 Door Spyder.

And do you want one?

Yes? Well pop yourself on ebay Item number:280598821409 and pick one up from Kyoto, Japan.

Here it is.

It is a very rare sight, in quite a nice colour.

I do wonder what the Badge to the right says? Azur Spyder? Jankel? I'm not sure.

The ebay ad says "1980 Bentley CONVERTIBLE"

"SUPECIAL ORDER MADE 2 DOOR CONVERTIBLE"

"SUPER LOW MILE RUN ONLY 12000KM"

"SUPER RICH ONE OWNER FROM NEW COST U$650000 WHEN NEW"

Now I can not say that this rear seat is quite standard on a Bentley!

Now to the Chassis number SCBZE02B3KCX26706.

So in fact it is not quite a 1980 Bentley as the ad states, but a 1989 Bentley.

And talking about models, it is actually not a Bentley Turbo R, but a Bentley Eight.

There is no Turbo, but it does have a 6.75 Litre V8, naturally aspirated with a catalytic converter.

It certainly one special car.

The ad concludes with "NOW US$62000 INCLUDE SHIPPING FEE TO YOUR BEST SEA PORT japan@i-ml.com"

I would love to own it, but the steering wheel is on the wrong side.

Check out a previous one for sale in Japan here, and a Rolls-Royce version also in Japan previously for sale here.

Good luck to the person who buys it, and thank-you to Lee for sending in the link.

Psst, Wanna buy a Turbo R ?

The Turbo R is a great car.

They can be picked up for 'boring car' money, but the maintenance is high.

Compared to the depreciation on some new high end Super Saloons, they can still be worth the aggro.

This was published in the February 2010 edition of Classic and Sportscar magazine.

Good advice for a very rewarding car -just be aware of what you're getting into...
