La Fête du Bentley

I really like it when main stream institutions like the Los Angeles Times do slightly unexpected things.

Like making a video on the Bentley Continential GT Speed.

I'm surprised in a good way!

Bentley Hooper Empress II

Considering there are just six of these cars in the world, it is with a slight grin that I commence my eighth article about the Bentley Hooper Empress II.

Firstly there was an introductory article about the Empress II posted here after a blue one was spotted in Monaco, then came the sale of a black one in France, followed by the original advertising material article, and then some high resolution studio photography of the car. Next car SCBZR03D2LCX32776 also a blue one was for sale on ebay America here, then can another spotting of a Empress in Monaco again, and finally I wrote an article for the Bentley Drivers Club Magazine about the car here.

Bentley Hooper Empress II

Now this, car SCBZR03D8MCX34842 the exact same red car from the original Hooper advertisement is now for sale at Berverly Hills Motor Cars surprisingly in San Diego.

Bentley Hooper Empress II

It still looks great! Minus the Hooper wire wheels though.

Bentley Hooper Empress II

It has preceded only 5075 miles. An average of under 300 miles per year.

Bentley Hooper Empress II

I like the number plate. It is a bit of a brutal bull.

Bentley Hooper Empress II

There are 34 photos of this car where some show fantastic Hooper details such as the drinks cabinet, the cosmetics store and the exquisite parquetry.

Bentley Hooper Empress II

The black Hooper previously for sale here has an Empress II badge. I think most people will realise it is not from the '50s. More photos will follow.

Crap Breakfast TV

Here is an example of crap American breakfast television.

When you are eating your hash browns, jelly sandwich and doughnut for breakfast washed down with a gallon of instant coffee you may come across this quality TV.

It is a segment to fill in time. Television time. It is hard to make 24hrs of stuff a day!

Bright Lights and Smokey Makeup

Now this is a normal healthy young model of a Bentley Turbo R strutting the streets of London. It looks quite nice; well it is in its teen years, and most good looking teenagers do look good with out make up. Generally tight as well with good handling.

It was spotted by David over at ExoticsOnRoad, with a little touch up by yours truly.

Bentley Turbo R

It sports nice curves and is not wearing any eye make up, unmolested as the day it left the works.

Now this one below. It has been using a significant amount of Nivea skin whitening cream. Mainly around the eyes. Yes there is such a product and is quite popular in South East Asia.

Bentley Turbo R

If you do not get my drift, have a look at what is indicated below. Pun intended.

For those who care there is such a thing as day make up and a different style for evening make up.

Think light and young during the day for a spot of shopping, and dark and mysterious at night for dinner and cocktails.

Now this example in their twenties is defiantly wearing evening make up. Up for cocktails and action for sure.

Bentley Turbo R

The smokey eye makeup is very much complementary to the skin tone, and you can't go past that updated bling bling mesh grill. Very nice.

I'll take you for a ride.

Bentley Turbo R

As appropriate with the year it is not wearing the latest alloy shoes, but nothing that a trip to Jack Barclay would not fix.

Bentley Turbo R

Let's have a look at the back and down to the rear.

Looking quite fit with a smokey behind. It's not black and blue bruising from been been rear ended, it's deliberate; the modern style. Dark and mysterious. Nice.

Bentley Turbo R

Then when you wake up from the evening, its back to the day where the teenagers appear looking all good not wearing any make up at all. Here is a comparison.

Bentley Turbo R

As with most cosmetic products, there tends to be a select amount of people who always abuse its use. Typical. The standard mistake is to go overboard and apply just too much. Here is a good example.

Bentley Turbo R

On occasions however magnificence do appear.

This example is so special it is naughty to look let along stare. It has an adults only rating.

Yes it is David's long awaited Bentley Hooper Turbo R 2 door with just the right amount of application of the skin whitening cream to the rear. Perfect.

Bentley Turbo R

I would love to have a ride.

Oh, as with other evening exploits, examples can be bought. The smokey evening number is a bit on the cheap side for on ebay here for £5,990.00 A check up by a professional I would recommend, unless you fall into the high risk behavioural category.

White Bentleys from the Long White Cloud

Ahh the land of the long white cloud. Aotearoa.

Yes New Kiwiland.

A geographically isolated market where internet companies like ebay have yet to penetrate.

Local boys still run the show, and it is called www.trademe.co.nz where there are 1.5 million people auction site users out of a total population of just over 4 million in the country. It's definitely popular, with over half of NZ internet traffic going there at times.

It is also a great place to pick up a Bentley. Browse under Rolls Royce for the flying B.

Have a look at this example. A very nice looking 2000 Bentley Azure.

What is great about New Zealand is that they have lax regulations regarding the import of second hand cars, and the roll on roll off ships go straight from Japan.

The interior is jut great. Maple wood and white certainly do go.

When the long while cloud breaks, out comes the canvas roof. Line in leather or suede of course.

If you are not up for a canvas roof, you can always get the steel roof version.

There is a fixed roof version for sale on TradeMe, yes it is the Bentley Continential R.

This is a 1996 version again from Japan, asking price NZ$185,000. NZ$65,000 cheaper than the Bentley Azure.

After seeing the maple interior of the Azure, this one is not quite as nice, but you do get the steel roof.

I would prefer the canvas roof if I resided in Kiwiland.

Rolls Royce Phantom Conquestidor by Mansory

I start with the famous quote from Sir Henry Royce.

"Strive for perfection in everything you do. Take the best that exists and make it better. When it does not exist, design it."

What I like about this quote is that the best is always open to interpretation.

Lets take the example of the Rolls Royce Phantom.

Is that the best? What about AX 201 the Silver Ghost? What about the Bentley Speed 8?

It is open to interpretation.

This is the Mansory interpretation. In high resolution. Click image to enlarge.

Rolls Royce Phantom Conquestidor by Mansory

The German tuner has taken the Rolls Royce Phantom and supposedly made it better.

Watch the video about the Rolls Royce Phantom Conquestidor by Mansory on a previous post here to find more out about this significant car. Other Mansory Bentleyspotting posts are here.

Rolls Royce Phantom Conquestidor by Mansory

They certainly do do a magnificent job of it.

Rolls Royce Phantom Conquestidor by Mansory

If you are interested, you need to purchase the Phantom, then spend more than the purchase price again for the modifications. Then of course the extras that always appear.

Rolls Royce Phantom Conquestidor by Mansory

I certainly like it, and would love to inspect one on the street. I really do not think there will ever be one downunder.

Rolls Royce Phantom Conquestidor by Mansory

Surprisingly a car spotter called s1mon from www.autogespot.com has managed to snap a real life Conquestidor on the streets of Kiev in the Ukraine.

A rare sight indeed.

This is a bit cheeky. Tom Ford from the British TV show Fifth Gear takes the Bentley Continental Flying Spur down the drag strip.

No burn out required.

Bentley S3 E Concept by Bentley Boys USA

It is so cool. It is very much bling bling. Totally pimpin'. Gee.

Like wearing fake Louis Vuitton or fake Burberry. Chav chav hommie.

An American company called 'Bentley Boys USA' have released this design study. They need to change the name of the company. It is just not right. Like fake Louis Vuitton.

It is called the Bentley S3 E Concept and is designed by Arturo Alonso. It uses Bentley S3 chassis and body, with some slight modifications. Squashed nose included.

Firstly it has been dropped on it's guts, that is lowered, has twin Milo tin exhausts, sports twinkie twinkie dubs with licorice strip tyres, and has a phat widebody with a badunkadunk butt.

The Mulliner badge is a bit confusing but I won't go there.

Oh it is wide. And the wheels are big. Too big to turn mind you. It is just for going straight. Rent boys not allowed.

But I still like it. The company plans to build 3 with Bimmer 4.4 V8 engines and want's to flog them off for 150K.

I wonder if a hoe is included in the tool kit?
