The Ultimate S.U.V.s
Way back in October 1965 an all new Rolls-Royce and Bentley car was introduced to the world. After some ten years of development the company had the latest, most modern car they had ever produced. The car was state of the art with it's monocoque body, hydraulic self-levelling suspension, smoother ride, four wheel disc brakes, and it was just what the world markets were waiting for.
A first from Crewe with it's genuinely fresh ageless design.
It was the Silver Shadow and the T.
As Pal Guinness states in the latest 'ROLLS-ROYCE & BENTLEY driver' magazine this car was a shocker to the company's traditional clientele.
"Just what are they doing...?" many asked.
Well, in today's age, almost everyone drives an S.U.V. so that's exactly why Rolls-Royce and Bentley have done it.
It's what the world wants.
No different from what the 'purists' raised their eyebrows over back in late 1965....
It was the best thing the Crewe factory ever did.
So next time you see the S.U.V.s, praise them, admire them for what they are and think hard about criticism.
I'm still a traditionalist but I totally understand how things move forward.
This is what the world wants and it works.
