Stunning Silver Spur

This is the interior door trim rather splendid all original 1987 Silver Spur on Ebay:

Burl walnut is a strange thing to use as a door panel as it is constantly stressed as the doors flex. But it does look amazing - never mind the hairline cracks...

There is wood veneer galore in this one.

The door inserts were a $5,000 option when new.

And the white piping on black leather really works.

The black exterior original paintwork with black Everflex roof suits this car, as do the 'proper' European headlamps. To me, this is probably the smartest and most tasteful Silver Spur I have come across.

Rodd, how on earth do you find these cars....?

Happy 135th!

A quick note to point out that today (the 27th August here in Toronto) is the 135th anniversary of the birth of Charles Stewart Rolls.

Born August 27th 1877 in Berkeley Square, London.

And died 12th July 1910 - the first Englishman to die in an aeroplane accident.

It is amazing what this man achieved in his 33 year life.
His name will live on forever.

Not Red

A Camargue newly listed on Ebay.
In blue.
It looks good - similar to Sir David's old car.

JRK32875

A bit of a 'whitewall debate' going on here. Actually, whitewalls suit this wheel cover.

Is that an Espada in there?

The interior looks decent.

It's not red, so I can't do it...

Bentley Spotted

On a Sunday drive in my ugly MB S.U.V. I came across yet another car club meet near Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Mostly American cars (many stunning examples) and a dozen British cars including this nice Mk VI Bentley.

I wish I'd been driving in 1800TU today..

Mississauga Classic Car Club

Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

Their car club had it's first annual 'Stage West' meet today and I decided to drop by with the Old Girl...

Many stunning cars attended, but mine was the only Crewe Product.

People were very happy to see the Old Thing. Even though it left an oil stain.

Car people are car people whatever you show up with.

I had a great day and actually won first place in the 'Best in Show Import Category'.
I was stunned. I really felt welcome there.....

There wasn't too much competition in that category to be honest:

But a big Thankyou to the judges, the organisers, the voters and the attendees.

More imports next year please. I'll be there again.
