Extra legroom

Here is a Silver Spirit based Rolls-Royce Limousine II by Robert Jankel Design with an enormous 72-inch stretch...

And no, it's not a photoshop!

It's a limousine for the man or woman who need a little extra legroom...

Hong Kong Hotels

The Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong is famous throughout the world for its fleet of Rolls-Royce courtesy cars.

And here is a photo of two of the current Phantom EWB fleet:

But the Peninsula Hotel is not the only Hong Kong hotel to have/had some impressive courtesy cars.

In the 80s and 90s, The Regent Hotel's fleet comprising 2 x Rolls-Royce Phantom VI and multiple Daimler 4.2 Limousines was just as well known.

Here is a photo of one of the Phantom VI taken during a visit to Hong Kong in the late nineties:

It's surrounded by six or seven of the Daimler 4.2 Limousines...

And here is the second one!

In 2001, Intercontinental Hotels took over operation of the hotel, and the fleet of Daimler 4.2 Limousines was gradually replaced by modern Mercedes saloons.

But the Phantom VIs are still there, repainted dark blue, and still occasionally seen ferrying the hotels most important guests to and from their engagements.

Here are some webfind photos:

Please send us your photos of  Rolls-Royce & Bentley hotel courtesy cars...we would love to see them!

The Final Series

Well, in my boxes of 'stuff' I have had stored away for the past three years, I have just come across this.

A little folder entitled 'Continental R & Azure - The Final Series'.
With these little 8x10 cards.

I adore these Crewe sketches....

With all their little notes....

I thought it was worth sharing.

Oh, but I have so much more...
Unpacking was like Christmas.

World Traveller

The final 12 examples of the Rolls-Royce Camargue destined for the US market were delivered as the "Camargue Limited" and painted white with an everflex roof and scarlet leather.

Here is a photo from a Queste magazine article:

Given Japan's booming economy of the late eighties, and its love for the Camargue (with the last two production cars both delivered to Japanese customers) it's no surprise that several examples subsequently ended-up there.

And a search of Japanese websites turns up photos of 3 cars:

The car in the first set of photos is clearly identfied as #11 of 12, the same car as featured in prior Team Bentley Spotting posts, when it was for sale in the UK...

So the US, Japan and UK...#11 of 12 is an experienced world traveller!
