Coffee Bean

H&H Classic Auctions are offering a 1976 Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible at their 15th April sale.

What makes this car special is that it is a rare "series 1A": one of the last of the chrome bumper cars fitted with many of the improvements that came with the the Silver Shadow II models launched in 1977, most notably dual level air-conditioning and revised dashboards.

It's described as being finished in malborough brown with a brown mohair hood and tan leather interior. But checking against rrsilvershadow.com suggests it may actually be coffee bean brown: http://www.rrsilvershadow.com/Kleur/Best/Corniche%20conv%201972%20DRA14277%20RV.jpg

The first of the series 1A cars was chassis #DRH22583, and this car, chassis #DRH22652, appears the be the fifth series 1A convertible off the production line. It's a rare car, with only 254 examples produced, off which just 48 are RHD cars like this one.

It's stated to have covered 93,000 miles with detailed service history and the guide price is GBP 25,000-30,000.
