Camargue, Up Close & Personal.

Up close and personal with a Rolls-Royce Camargue.

Rodd Sala has my favorite modern Rolls-Royce, one of just 531 made and who knows just how many are still around...

So, some details most onlookers don't notice:

The outside.

She's on Ebay....

Sideline by Rolls-Royce.

So we all know that by the late seventies the Bentley name was just that - a name.

Sort of an afterthought....

Sad, really, but the the Mulsanne Turbo revived the name and sporting character in the early eighties and we have never looked back.

Well, I'm looking back.

The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow brochure from 1977 was glamorous:

A nice Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II brochure too:

Even sporting yellow French headlamps.

Then the Rolls-Royce Corniche FHC & DHC brochure:

So, Bentley. Yeah, the 'rebadged' car...

The 'cheap' one....

One brochure entitled 'Bentley'.

No separate T saloon brochure, no separate T LWB brochure, no separate Bentley Corniche brochure,

Just one for all. Here it is. It is nice but it does sum up how the Bentley grilled cars were just a sideline back then. Sad.

Interesting two tone paint scheme on the saloon. Painted roof (not Everflex) and the dark brown runs under the windscreen and just under the door windows. I like that.

Two different saloons in this brochure. One gold coloured and the other pewter silver.

1900TU - the Bentley number plate.

Oh dear... Saggy rear end in a brochure!

T (Not tea) & Caramilk.

Soft on the inside, hard on the outside....Yum....

A lovely 1974 Bentley T I had the pleasure to drive this past weekend.

We even took it to the airport.

Nice, nice, nice.

Soft on the inside.....?

Original Factory soft. I love it!

Black Cloud

It all began very early last Saturday morning with a 1,000km road trip.

Toronto, Canada to northern Illinois, U.S.A. in my forty year old Crewe product.

Off to visit my pal Rodd Sala in Illinois.

A long, long drive for my Old Thing, but well worth it.

No issues at all. "Atta Girl...!" What a great car.

Lots of lovely stuff at Park-Ward Motors. I could stay there forever -  but my wife won't let me....

I had a bit of fun in the early evening with a black Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud just as the sun was setting.

The car.

A lovely car....

Good night sun....

Then off to Walgreens' (to develop my  film ?)

Or should I say WalgRReens'....?
