1930 Bentley 4½ Litre Blower at Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi

Bentley Motors took their 1930 4½ Litre Blower Bentley to Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi to celebrate 90 years of the Bentley marque.



CAR Middle East made a great video of a Bentley employee talking about the car, then going for a drive in it.

Bentley Val D'Isere in Singapore

Hello, look what has been spotted in Singapore.

That's right a Bentley Val D'Isere by Robert Jankel.

Almost certainly from the Sultan of Brunei collection.



Another was spotted outside Harrods a while back.

Sent in more pictures if anyone has them!

*** Update***

This is not from Brunei, but from the numberplate it is a Johor car from Malaysia. Most likely the Sultan of Johor's car.

Rolls-Royce Conquistador by Mansory

Love it or hate it, they are special.

That's right, the Rolls-Royce Phantom with modifications by Mansory spotted on the street.



These enhancements are called the Conquistador.



It is very impressive. The drop head coupe front lamps do look good.

Kind of like the equivalent of putting P100 lamps on Phantoms in the '70s!



And if you do not like black, you can always get white!

It is quite unique to compare the Mansory to the Fixed head coupe behind it.



Sure you see these cars park everyday on the street!

1946 Bentley Speedster

I do like the notion of commissioning a car to exactly how you would like it.

Remove the body, this is what I now want!



As we all know, it is quite a popular thing to do with a Bentley Mk VI.



Remove the standard steel, and add a superleggera beautiful thing.

The thing is also, that as it's not yours, you can always make comments to how you would improve these Special cars. I would have put Corniche rear lamps on this, it would have looked much better - that kind of thing!



Tom Martin was lucky to photograph this 1946 Bentley Special, and dubbed it a Speedster.

I think it is the Paris Motor Show, but I have no idea.

Princess Anne's Continental Flying Spur

Lets take a look at this 2006 Bentley Continental Flying Spur.

It is very nice in sapphire blue with its 20" diamond cut alloy wheels.



It even looks quite unassuming, as it is so proper.



But a keen Bentley Spotter would notice some unusual shadows behind the grill. Notice them?



Lets open it up and take a look. Extra lights!



Here they are in action.



Blue. Blue blood in fact.



That's right, this is Princess Anne's old Bentley Continental Flying Spur, and below is a photo of the car under formal escort, with the extra lights put to good use.



The BBC has reported that on one occasion, Princess Anne was driving her Bentley to a function, and a Police car pulled up behind her with its lights on. Princess Anne thought it was an escort, and carried on at speed. Unfortunately on that occasion the Police car was trying to pull her over for speeding. Woops, her solicitor had to explain the situation to the Court. Read about it here.

That story was actually in 2001, before this Bentley was made, so it could have been a Bentley Turbo R, or maybe a Continental, I'm not sure.

Now to the interior.



The two tone certainly is impressive.



And now to the rear seats.



The 4 seat option with full length console is quite Stately.



Fit for a Princess one might say.

Here is a video of the car. The electronic rear blind in action is a sight not often recorded.

Sports Memorabilia

Are you obsessed with American Football?

Well, this very interesting Silver Shadow II is the ultimate San Fransisco 49ers fans' accessory.



Trouble is, there's only one - it was originally ordered by a member of the franchise in the team colours and recently sold on Ebay to a european buyer.





I hope he likes football. It certainly is unique...

The Other Way

"How fashions change: back in the 60/70s people were converting Bentleys to Rolls-Royces, then through the late 80s and 90s, Rolls-Royces were being converted to Bentleys."

Here's a 1976 series 1A Rolls Royce Corniche fixed head coupe converted to a Bentley in all departments including instruments and rocker covers by a previous owner who found out that only 3 series 1A fixed head Bentleys were manufactured.

Gender Crisis

That '69 T again.

I recall seeing this car in October before it's 'Gender Change' - or should I say before it's gender change was reversed....

That's 'It' at the front.

Interesting history in Rodd's words:

 

"This particular Bentley has a unique delivery history which makes it interesting. The first buyer saw the vehicle on the show room floor and loved the colour combination but actually wanted a Rolls-Royce. He was not prepared to wait the lead time to order the Rolls-Royce equivalent so – at great expense – had the car converted to "appear" as a Rolls-Royce. Commissioned by Rolls-Royce USA, the grill, bonnet, hubcaps and external badging were changed to "Rolls-Royce". All original Bentley VIN and IDs remained in place, of course (The prefix "SBX" on the VIN is a correct Bentley VIN*). As part of the restoration process, Park-Ward Motors has re-instated its correct "Bentley" presentation as per factory specifications."
