Abbott likes the Bootie

My gosh that is a big behind.

This is a 1954 Bentley R-Type Continental Coupe with an Abbott body.

Features a helicopter landing pad on rear deck.

One of 8 remaining, and chassis number 8. First owner was the Earl of Sefton, and the car is currently for sale.

The Classic Car Shop wants £79,950 for it here

Cannot identify the Abbott R type Continental OYE 700 by info provided by chassis number 8 OR 1st owner Earl of Sefton OR registration number OR year of build 1954

The eighth R type Continental was BC 8LA delivered September 1952. 1st owner H Kizer of USa. BC 8D which was delivered in 1954 (Sept) had Baron de la Rochette as 1st owner. More accurate information on this important car please.
Unless it is an R type without being Continental?

Gday Peter,
This information is taken straight from the seller of this car. The link is at the end of the post.

The car is first described as a Continental R by Abbott.

Then it is described as a 1954 Bentley R-Type (Continental Coupe body by Abbott)

It does seem that this car is not a Bentley R-Type Continental, but one of the 303 Bentley R-Types with coachbuilt bodies.

I don't think this car has been on the Eurostar. It's not a Continential, just an R Type.
