Pimpin' in the Seventies
Well, it seems motorcycle racer Barry Sheene started it all.
Back in the seventies we all dreamt of doing up our cars with a set of Wolfrace alloy wheels on our Minis but settled for for a set of Savage S500 hubcaps instead.

Barry got a set of Campagnolos specially made for his Silver Shadow and started the trend. Okay, so it took a quarter of a century to catch on....

But that's my opinion.
