A good friend of mine was in California last week.
Funny how all my friends take RR & B photos for me when they see one whilst on vacation...
So anyway, California :
'Bentleys Galore.'
The Newport Beach dealership.
Nice selection. I'll take the red one.
But apparently, not too many Rolls-Royces about.
He did spot this 'early' Silver Wraith II in Santa Barbara (no thick chrome trim below the door windows. Therefore a '77 or '78 ?)
In case you don't know what I am talking about, here's that trim piece on an '80 Wraith II:

All Silver Wraith IIs had the trim bit at the window sills. This is clearly shown in the first brochure issued by RR Ltd in 1977, as well as in the very first publicity photographs. I would suspect this car has had a repaint at some time in its life.
John..... You are quite incorrect, I'm afraid. The chrome mouldings featured as a standard firment from late 79 to the end of the production run. You are correct in that it featured in the brochure but for reasons unknown (perhaps supply issues) they rarely appeared in earlier cars.
Also, curious why you believe this car was repainted as I know for a fact that she sports its original paint - something quite rare on Rolls-Royce from this era.
I stand corrected, and am most grateful for that information. Also, it's so gratifying to know this beautiful car is still wearing its original livery! Thanks again!
