Something Strange
I recently found a classified ad for a 1996 Bentley Brooklands, chassis #TCX57369. But something looked strange when I looked at the ad photos, something didn't seem quite right. But what?
Here's the the first photo...
Can you spot what didn't look right? It's not the chrome radiator.
Here's another photo...
How about now? Worked it out?
This next photo makes it quite obvious...
Yes, that's right...It's got the rectangular headlights as fitted to the Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit and Silver Spur and early Bentley Mulsanne, Turbo R & Eight cars.
Here's a brochure photo of a 1987 Mulsanne S so you can compare...
Here's a 1996 Bentley Brooklands with the more familiar twin round headlights...

I also like the look of the oblong (Silver Spirit) headlamps on the later Turbo R family. I often think if I was lucky enough to own one I would have specified this. Similar to the more expensive versions of the Jaguar XJ40.
