Phantom or 600
Decisions, decisions...
Two brown cars I've seen VERY up close recently.
Yes, we all know which one I prefer, but the German one is interesting. Years ahead of it's time when it came out - hydraulic everything.
Back in the seventies there wasn't much choice for a super luxury barge - a Phantom or a Benz 600. The 600 came in various guises - the standard saloon, the long Pullman or the Landaulette. The RR range equivalent was the standard Silver Shadow, the LWB or the Phantom - which also came in Landaulette form.
But to drive them , they are very different cars. The 600 does not drive like a Shadow. I find the Royce a more refined, but if you are into brute power and presence the 600's for you. Dozens of despots and dictators can't be wrong....(if they haven't been lynched yet).
I don't care if it's longer...
I'll take the Shadow LWB over the 600. Never mind the Phantom.
Here are the Landaulettes.
Interiors.
Enough said...
