Bentley Camargue Spotted
I do like a rare Bentley spotting.
This is certainly one. There is only one. Well kind of.
There is only one Bentley Camargue. It is the 1985 SCBYJ000XFCH10150. The 'BYJ' indicates a Bentley Camargue.
Here it is. Sporting the standard 1200TU registration of test/press cars from Crewe. Crewe test/press cars still have this numberplate you know.
A previous article here explains that the Camargue was actually designed as a Bentley with twin circular headlights and a Bentley grill with badges. Here is a design sketch.
So what is this car on the road then?
Well it is a Rolls Royce to Bentley conversion Bentley Camargue.
And I really like it.
Registration C822 KAX is a Rolls Royce on the books, not a Bentley. But who cares, the car is great!
What is also really interesting is that the rear lights are custom! Certainly not the standard.
It is great to see a Bentley Camargue on the street.
Thanks to Maurice for the pictures.
Update. Here is the car as a Rolls Royce before it had its identity reassignment surgery.
Thanks Andy for the pre-op pic.

The rear lights are from some Ferrari of the 70's, like the 365 GTC/4.
