It is written on page 147 in Malcolm Bobbitt's excellent book 'Rolls-Royce Shadow, Bentley T Series, Camargue and Corniche' that the model badging first used on the Corniche in 1971 was designed by RR stylist Martin Bourne. Bourne admits that he based it on a typeface he discovered in a Reader's Digest magazine!
Well, I Googled Reader's Digest images and Ebay items and (finally) found it. There's no mistaking it.
That font was used on all the model range for a long time.
