False Appearance


This rather smart 1979 Bentley Corniche Saloon isn't as it first appears...


It's got a later fuel-injected engine...


But thats not all. There is more...

With the chassis number, CRH50098, giving a big clue.

Spotted it?

Yes, this is actually another Rolls-Royce to Bentley conversion...

Between 1998-2000, it was fully restored as a Bentley while also being fitted with a 1989 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit fuel-injected engine and Harvey Bailey suspension upgrades.

The cost of these works is reputed to have exceeded GBP 60,000...a not insubstantial sum.

It's therefore quite suprising that SRH50098 was offered at Bonham's sale of Rolls-Royce & Bentley Motor Cars in June 2003, just 3 years and 12,000 miles later.
