Limited Edition Bentley Continental GT3-R

You could probably tell I was a little bit excited when Bentley went racing.

And very excited when we won! Relive the moments of the race here:

And rumors were rife that this was going to happen - a road going GT3 car!

Details have now been release.

There will be 300 of these bad boys made. Love the 1200TU number plates. Good to see traditions upheld.

It's called the Bentley Continental GT3-R. The R for 'Road' presumably.

The catch line is it is the "the fastest-accelerating Bentley ever".

Just look at that rear spoiler. Great.

The car will have 580 PS (572 bhp / 426 kW) and 700 Nm of torque.

What is also new is a lot of chassis tweaks and power chain revisions to make acceleration faster.

This includes 'torque vectoring' where 'the drivetrain has the ability to control the torque at each of the rear wheels' and a all-new titanium exhaust with a 'unique baritone roar'. I'd like to hear that!

It's also 100 kg lighter than a GT V8 S. I actually though it would be a lot lighter than this.

The GT3 car is more than 1000kgs lighter - so the weight loss program is not that extensive.

They have obviously still kept a lot of luxury.

It looks like they did not go down the carbon fibre panels route that the GT3 car has.

My guess is that people will modify this car more to make it lighter.

The Continental has an "eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox, now with shorter output gearing to enhance acceleration, to Bentley’s renowned all-wheel drive system".

There was thought that it could have been a rear wheel drive car only to save weight, but it's not to be.

All cars with come in white with the stickers. I think they are cool.

It will be fun to see them on the road.

I think the most similar recent car is the SuperSports ISR, the Ice Speed Record car - that was also limited edition with stickers and wheels.
