From The Classifieds

This week's choice for From The Classifieds is a 1956 Bentley S1 Continental Fastback by H.J. Mulliner which is being offered at auction at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, Cambridge next month.

Supplied new by HR Owen Ltd to Guy Howard Martineau Esq of London SW7, chassis #BC90AF was initially registered as "GM 7" and finished in regal red with an off white leather interior.

It was subsequently owned by Dr J.A. Ogilvy of Birstall and Gerald Poulson Esq of Little Bardfield before being given to the current owner in 1992 as a Valentine's Day gift…

It certainly beats a dozen red roses or box of chocolates!

Subject to bodywork restoration between 1999 and 2001 when it was also and re-trimmed with beige upholstery, #BC90AF shows an unwarranted 78,956 miles on its odometer and is being offered with a new MOT, chassis cards, assorted bills and invoices.

It's being guided at GBP 275-325,000 – unfortunately far too expensive for me!
