Wow..
A very long day.
Up at three a.m. On the road by four.
Gas and coffee at four ten...
Heavy wet fog until sunrise (5am)
More gas.
The Windsor/Detroit tunnel:
Detroit.....
Then civilisation. The convoy I was to join in Ann Arbour. A 1962 S2 Bentley, an SLK Benz, a 1935 Phantom II, an Arnage and a Corniche D.H.C
It went well. We took the back roads - great back roads until an FTP occurred (Failure To Proceed). But it wasn't me - they got the wrong David...
Bubba'll fix it tomorrow. Fuel pump.
So four of us headed on... (The Arnage was used as the 'Medic' Car so it dropped out too)
My car got really dirty and still is... I'll wash it in the morning.
A great drive over the Ohio River and a fantastic drive down to Louisville through Sligo. What a road...
Then more gas.
We made it. But I feel feel bad for the David mistaken identity.
It all starts Tuesday.

Hey-
Love the site. For the Corniche, can't tell for sure what year it is, but it looks like it could be a 20,000 series+.
If that's the case, they should check out the RH3009 "fuel pump noise reduction kit" (available at flying spares etc). http://rrtechnical.info/sz/bulletins/fuelpumpnoisereduction.pdf Not only does it eliminate the pre-pump and make the fuel pump quieter in its operation, it can greatly reduce the heat on the fuel pump fuse (which is known to melt on the fuse board on occasion!)
Also, the pump itself can be had quite cheaply on Amazon (69439).
Good luck and keep the posts coming!
