Recently, I was asked if I knew of a good deal on a Ghost for sale. Not sure if the one I found was a good deal or not, but I had a hard time finding this car 'luxurious' looking inside. I'm trying very hard to like the Ghost. I want to like it.
But what's with the flat seat surfaces?
It looks like an old 1990's Lincoln interior - or even a BMW 3 series. Not as a Rolls-Royce should look.
Come on RR, give the Ghost interior some appeal.
My 'Benz 'everyday, all year car' even has nicer looking seats....
Here's the Ghost interior compared to a seventies Silver Shadow and the same seats my 'Benz has thrown in at the end.

I quite agree with your comments about the Ghost interior. Not only to the plain seating surfaces look, well, too plain, but they lack any "warmth" and character. As an example, Shadow seats were a modern interpretation of those previously used in the Clouds. There were inboard mounted folding armrests for the front, and a centre folding armrest at back. They had beautifully made pull loops and padded tops. The seats in the Ghost show evidence everywhere of cost-cutting, something one would expect in a BMW ... but not a Rolls-Royce.
I quite agree with your comments about the Ghost's seating and general interior design. As an example, Shadow seats were a modernised version of those seats used before it in the CLouds. Each front seat had its own folding armrest, and the rear seat had a centre armrest. All were beautifully made and detailed with padded tops and beautiful pull loops. The Ghost's interior, to me, shows evidence everywhere of cost-cutting, something one would expect in a BMW ... but not in a Rolls-Royce.
That has been my prime complaint with the Ghost and the Phantom Drop Head. Both of them have such nondescript upholstery that clearly does not befit such fine automobiles. Hopefully RR will correct this on the coming year's models.
I cannot agree more with you David. The Ghost interior is typically Bavarian (black on black) and has no appeal whatsoever. Even a 3-series Beamer from the 70's had more character...
