The Bentley Silverstone Corner of the Brunei Garages.

In 1994 and 1995 a total of 8 Bentley Silverstone cars were coachbuilt for the Royal Family of Brunei.

They were designed by Hawtal Whiting and built by ASC, American Sunroof Corporation from Detroit, who subcontracted Metalcrafters in California to do a lot of the work.

The cars were built on the Continental R (SZ) chassis and are powered by Bentley Continental R Sufacon L-Series twin turbo engine, project code P300, often refered to as as Blackpool engine, as Blackpool was the codename for the customer, the Royal Family of Brunei.

Generally all the Projects were managed by HRH Prince Hakeem of Brunei, the first son of HRH Prince Jefri, the brother of the HM The Sultan of Brunei.

This car at Crewe wase designated as Project 150 - P150 Bentley Silverstone, for the customer Blackpool.

It was protocol at Crewe to never mention Brunei, but to use the codeword Blackpool.

The body is  a 3 position coupe, where the Bentley Silverstone can be a full convertible, a targa/sedanca coupe or a coupe.

This car is a bit of a mystery. According to records it was made, and has a sequential VIN where Silverstone cars were made before and after it. However this VIN is not a the leaked master list of cars.

This implies that it was not kept in the main garages of Brunei, which usually means it was kept at an individual palace or possibly in the UK.

This photo below was taken at Metalcrafters in California when the car was being made. I think this is charcoal, which means it is this VIN, as all of the other 7 cars made have been accounted for.

Essentially there is a Bentley Silvertone corner of Brunei in the garages.

A total of 5 Bentley Silverstone cars are all location in a group in a corner.

The yellow with red interior Silverstone is located in the famous Black Room gallery which is in a different garage of the compound.

There is a mystery about SCBZH04A8RCH00305 and SCBZH04A2RCH00302 will pop up in other background photos I presume.

Here is a visual reference of the Bentley Silverstone corner of Brunei.

I will post more of the collection in the maximum resolution available.

I find the different interiors particularly exciting! Even the seat pattern is different.

I wonder if the small display next to the convertible top switches is a status display for the roof?
