This week's From The Classifieds is a 1986 Bentley Eight with 75,000 miles from new.
It is one of 1,736 examples produced between 1984-1992 and it is being offered at auction on 5th April with no reserve.
The Eight was introduced in July 1984 as the "entry model" to the Bentley and Rolls-Royce range of cars. It was marketed as the model for a younger buyer with the mesh grille giving a sportier appearance and stiffer front suspension improving the turn-in.
The list price at launch was GBP 49,629 or approximately GBP 6,000 less than a Mulsanne and GBP 12,000 less than a Mulsanne Turbo.
Today, the Eight still remains one of the most affordable means to Bentley ownership, although the pricing differential to the rest of the range has decreased through both depreciation and recognition of the comparatively simpler mechanics.
It will be interesting to see the hammer price.
