This week's From The Classifieds features a Bentley Eight currently for sale in Switzerland. Introduced in October 1984, the Eight was intended as a more sporting and marginally cheaper model for the younger driver.
The most obvious difference from the more expensive Mulsanne was a wire mesh rather than slatted grille. However the Eight also featured slighly firmer suspension and a slightly less luxurious interor.
This example was first registered in April 1988 and has covered 60,800 kms from new:
From 1986 onwards the Eight was fitted with ABS and fuel injection, and from 1987 onwards a full leather and power memory seats also became standards fitments.
This car is unusual in having been fitted with an everflex roof. It also has a painted radiator shell and later 17-inch alloy wheels. And it also appears to have a later large bore exhaust.
It hardly looks like an "entry level" car.
If you're interested, it's on offer at CHF 39,000 or approx. US $43,700 at current exchange rates.
