"When it Does Not Exist, Design it!"

Sir Henry Royce's own words.

Or did Bernd Pischetsrieder say those same words after he paid $40 million Pounds for the name Rolls-Royce before 'The Big Split' ?
That's all he got. No factory, no workers, no Silver Ghost AX201 ("Oops!", he must've said there) and no 'TU' registration numbers.

Just a name.

Read the excellent book 'Kidnap of the Flying Lady' by Richard Feast for the whole story...

Anyway, I have somehow got my hands on an early Goodwood Phantom brochure.
It's a good one (big too), so I will share some of the images:

A great design by Marek Djordjevic and the gang.

What a job they did.
Who said "You can't make somethin' from nuthin'...?"

That's what I thought when I first laid eyes on a pre production prototype Phantom in Las Vegas.
Bernd agrees.
